Mentoring Programme

Mentoring

Are you a dancer/teacher with or without disabilities interested in developing your career in inclusive dance?

We are excited to announce that we have funding to go ahead with the programme for a third year. If you are interested in applying for 2024 please contact us and let us know why you would like to take part. This can be a statement or video message that gives us a sense of what you'd like to gain. Please don't see this request as a barrier, we are happy to accept your interest without this too. We need to hear from you by 3rd March 2024 in order to consider you. Applications after this date won't be able to be considered.

We have an access support worker in all sessions who is trained in dance.

Is it for me?:

You may be a dancer with disabilities, trying to gain paid dance/teaching work, you may be a new university graduate with a passion for inclusion, you might have lots of teaching experience but want to specialise in inclusive dance… this is for everyone.

Diversity to us means making sure we create an environment where people with any protected characteristics feel safe, welcome and represented.

What our last group of mentees thought:

“Proof that inclusion exists & can work- just the group we had & support throughout was beyond supportive & have learnt so much from everyone to take forward. Great way to share ideas from all the backgrounds we come from & the journeys we are making.”

“This was such a beautiful, meaningful & VALUABLE experience. Having the opportunity to CONNECT with others who share my passions was a breath of fresh air.”

“This program has given me greater focus, the approach was gentle and clear. I feel more connected to the inclusive dance community and am grateful for Parable thinking to put this program together it has definitely helped me and made this journey less lonely.”

“The confidence, support & understanding of each of our needs from the beginning & the way sessions were modified where needed have been fabulous. Thank you all so very much.”

“Each session was packed full of interesting info and the whole journey flew by. It left me wanting more!”
